My Story
Serving Patients Since 2010
My name is Rodney Ho and I am originally from Honolulu, HI. I was born and raised on the beautiful island of Oahu. Most of my immediate family still live on Oahu and I try to visit them as much as possible. The most important factors in my life is family, friends and spreading joy to those I hold dear to my heart. My favorite hobby is hanging out on the sand and soaking up some rays while looking at the waves breaking on the shore. I recently taking up (BBQ) smoking and found it enjoyable to watch my family and friends judge my cooking. I moved from Oahu when I was 18 years old and turned 19 during Air Force basic training in 1998. I have served my country for over 25 years and enjoyed every moment of it. I have done and been to places that I only can dream of. By far the best location where I lived would be Okinawa, Japan. Living in Okinawa, Japan reminded me of Hawaii. I feel in love with the culture, people and of course the food. The first 10 years of serving in the Air Force, I was a Non-destructive Inspector and assessed the structural integrity of aircrafts and lifesaving apparatuses. I did this for six years and yearned to teach, so I was picked up as a Non-destructive instructor in Pensacola, FL and loved the area because of the beach. In 2008, I was picked up for the Inter-service Physician Assistant program in 2007 and completed this program in 2010. Since 2010, I have worked as a Physician Assistant in many areas such as family practice, student health and occupational health. While in Okinawa, Japan, I was able to form a professional relationship with the previous two medical directors who were psychiatrist. I formed a deep interest in mental health and had a chance to manage more patients with emotional and mental health problems. I moved to San Antonio in 2015 and begin my career in research, development and acquisition. I had the opportunity to moonlight in a nursing home providing psychiatry services and also working in a urgent care strictly for those in emotional and psychological crisis. There I found the power of counseling by working with professional counselors. I pondered how great it would be if I could provide medication management and psychotherapy in my sessions.

MY PASSION
Ever since I was young, I was always interested in medicine and how the mind works. I knew I wanted to get into a career path that would make a difference in people’s lives. This interest led me to study psychological science and eventually a full time job. As a licensed Mental Health Service Provider in Utah, I am committed to the well-being of all my patients and go above and beyond to cater to their needs. I truly care for all of my clients, and work diligently to help find them the answers they seek. I have worked with a variety of patients dealing with circumstances that are unique to their lives.
